The advice and guidance is for patients whom are seeking help with reduction of opioids, those whom opiate use is escalating and there is a safety concern, patients whom are taking more than 100mg oral morphine equivalent a day. Please address queries to painservice@somersetft.nhs.uk

These queries will be shared with and opinion sought from SDAS and a reply generated within 5 working days.

• If patients are referred to our service for support with weaning please ensure they are in agreement to engaging with us and options of the service. Further information is available on www.somersetpain.co.uk
• If patients show behaviour suggestive of addiction and/ or diversion, then a consultation with SDAS might be more appropriate as the first stage.
